Sant Jordi festival in Barcelona

Every year in Catalonia we celebrate Sant Jordi on the 23rd April, the day of the book and the rose. It is a wonderful time, during the spring season, but during the day the city of Barcelona is full of book and roses stands and the main streets are crowded but beautiful.

However, it is proved that not only books and roses are sold. There are plenty of gadgets and specific foods, people lunch or dine out, there are more tourists consuming everywhere... Thus Sant Jordi's festival in Barcelona is mainly used to sell and promote diverse types of products and services.

Last year over 1.6 million books were sold in one day. Six million roses were sold in a period of 48 hours, and 80% of them were imported from abroad. Complementary products of both books and roses (like cards, liners....) were sold in millions as well. It is one of the busiest days in the city of Barcelona, never to miss as a tourist, but never forget that Sant Jordi can bring in lots of profits to many companies.
