According to an article published in the Spanish newspaper “La Vanguardia” last 15th November, in 2020 activities like telemarketing, accounting or direct sales will be completely automated, needing few or no human intervention. Mr Francisco Puertas, managing director of talent in Accenture Strategy Spain confirmed during an interview to the newspaper that we must understand how digital technologies can enable a different types of workforce and which tasks, knowledges and roles will be required in the future. This is absolutely true, and proof of it is the clear increase in demand for positions requiring specific software knowledge (ERPs, PLMs, CRMs...), social media management skills, etc. But transformation will not only come from technology, says Mr Puertas: implementing different strategies and transforming vertical hierarchies into horizontal organizations will be key to growth.

The fact such article is published in a broad media in South Europe is already an evidence that audiences, thus people in the world, are truly concerned about having their business up-to-date so they can grow further. C-level executives ask themselves if they have the right workforce, the proper in-house knowledge to take their organizations into the future. Therefore, it is indispensable to support both technological and organizational transformation, implementing the correct strategies so that you can manage resistance better.
