3 key principles to expand your international business network

We will also coach you technologically so you can optimize the use of online social networks to expand your international relations successfully.

Let us give you a taste on the 3 key principles which are essensial if you are about to expand your international business network. Much of the theories included in the International Relations scholarship books include 3 main themes: realism, liberalism and constructivism. The three of them are absolutely applicable in business as well as in politics. I am not saying that you must play politics when doing business, thankfully business nowadays allows a bit more transparency. But certainly when it comes to develop your business network worldwide, as well as in international politics, diplomacy is the leitmotif. Some very good commercial directors and managers have become excellent diplomats, while dealing with the pressure from their inside organization and the one from customers and partners, helping to resolve conflicts and divergences and producing excellent results.

On the other hand, there is something indispensable a good international business developer must practice in order to be successful. Curiosity. Remember that curiosity takes you to meet new people, exchange information and discover new doors to success, both on an event but digitally as well.

When expanding your business relations overseas, you will also have to take seriously into account one important principle: no prejudices allowed. You can't have prejudices, because you will have to sympathize to people who have a different culture, opinion, religion, habits, ideas, experiences... You must overcome such differences in your brain beforehand. Just think that one day you can be talking with a business man in Vietnam to distribute your products there. Another you could be in Brasil on a sales mission getting partners on board, while somebody from Estonia wants to connect with you on LinkedIn to see if you can cooperate on a project. An open free-prejudiced mind will help you to find opportunities where others would not even look.
